In 1955, the twenty year old Elvis Presley had just begun gaining notoriety yet was still anything but the "KING." He was just a young musician in Memphis Tennessee trying to land his "big-break".
June of 1955, Elvis had his first professional photographs taken by local Memphis photographer William Speer. These twelve images, shot in Speer's studio, were meant to be used as the first professional photographs of Elvis.
Months after these portraits were taken Elvis landed his major record deal with RCA records. These photos, which are a part of the International Photography Hall of Fame's permanent collection, likely left an indelible impact on the public and record companies and would help pave the way for his illustrious career.
In celebration of these photos and Elvis's 75th birthday in 2010, IPHF has obtained and are able to offer this "Limited Edition 2010" calendar of those twelve photographs. These beautiful one-of-a-kind calendars catalog the important dates in Elvis's life.
