David will discuss the representation of Native Americans through 2017 Hall of Fame Inductee, Edward Curtis.
David Hanlon has been exhibiting his photographic work both nationally and internationally over the past twenty-five years, in addition to curating exhibitions and writing about the history of the medium. His images have been published in a variety of sources and can be found in numerous private collections throughout the United States as well as the University of Kentucky Art Museum and the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Hanlon has also worked as the chief photographer for the college’s archaeological expedition to Tell Tuneinir, Syria, from 1990-2001 and at Markovi Kuli (Skopje, Macedonia) from 2007. He has served as chair of the art department of STLCC since 2005.
