Travel Photography with Scott Angus

Thursday, February 25th, 2021
6pm-7pm CST

Travel is an activity that so many people love. There are many reasons for our wanderlust, but escapism is at the top of the list. The desire to leave our place and experience the excitement and joy of the new is a way we cope with the realities of adulthood. Travel Photography begins in full after the American Civil War for this very reason and grew into one of the most popular uses of the camera. Professor Angus will explain the history of travel photography and will share his own work and give insight into how to capture powerful images of travel.

Scott Angus is tenured Associate Professor and Director, Photography and Video Programs, at Maryville University. Angus, an avid explorer, is interested in photography that tells the story of the forgotten or hidden past.
