Flying Cameras: Drone Photography with Justin Barr of STL From Above

Thursday, April 8th, 2021
Online: 6pm-7:30pm CST

Learn how to soar above the competition using drone photography.

Successful drone photography starts with smart planning. Finding a drone to fit your needs, mastering controls to build trust in the drone, learning the FAA laws for legal flying and finally composition of the photo. With good practice and safe flying, you can elevate your photographic skills.

Justin Barr studied graphic design at UM-St. Louis and now specializes in photography and videography. He started with family portraits and soon moved into wedding photography. In 2017, Justin added an aerial photography drone to his equipment kit to bring a new dimension to the usual wedding photographs. After an uncharacteristically slow wedding season, Justin hit the streets of St. Louis, drone in hand, to capture some of the landmarks around town. Focusing mainly on lesser known sites, Justin has gained a loyal following on social media due largely to the fact that people are now able to see some of their favorite spots from above, giving these locations a unique perspective, and renewing their love for the city.
