International Photography Hall of Fame Development Director

The International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum is the only Hall of Fame for Photography in the world. Its purpose is to educate the public about photographic history; collect, exhibit and preserve historical items and images; and honor significant contributors to the evolution of the art and science of photographic imaging. IPHF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.

Role Purpose

Expanding the 57-year legacy nationally and internationally with corporations and companies world-wide. Responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors, corporations, foundations and, when applicable, state and government grants.

Position Summary

The Development Director plays a significant role in leading and assisting the CEO/President in achieving fund development goals through communication and implementation of comprehensive donor relations, promoting interactions with and recognition of donors at all levels. This position will grow IPHF’s annual fundraising efforts through strategic donor cultivation, retention, and stewardship programs. The Development Director will identify, cultivate and engage current and potential donors, positioning the organization for continued sustainable funding streams.

Major Responsibilities

  • Execute annual Development Plan, driving fundraising goals to completion through individual gifts, a monthly giving program, direct mail and special event sponsorship by working closely with CEO and Board of Directors
  • Provide direction and oversight to signature special event with the CEO
    Demonstrate a full understanding of development metrics as a driver for revenue production and manage a fundraising budget
  • Research, identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors in partnership with the CEO
  • Create and implement a Donor Stewardship Plan, Donor Communication Plan and Donor Acquisition and Retention plan, increasing donors and donor retention rates
  • Research the newest technologies and techniques in donor retention and stewardship
  • Utilize data and analytics to drive solicitation and communication strategies
  • Network with donors, partners, and other organizations to promote IPHF’s mission
  • Develop strong donor relationships, understanding motivations and expectations
  • Support corporate and foundation processes, building relationships with organizational officials, assisting the grant writer, as needed
  • Serve as an ex-officio member of the Resource Development and Annual Induction Gala Committee
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by CEO

Job Requirements/Skills and Competencies

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Major Gift and special event fundraising experience, preferred
  • Development and/or sales experience, preferred
  • Passion for arts-integrated educational programming, preferred
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with donors and volunteers
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and donor software
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Results oriented
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Dedication to donor stewardship
  • Leadership skills that reflect and value a team approach, demonstrating effectiveness, efficiency, integrity and ability to deliver high quality service
  • Proven ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness with attention to detail
  • Ability to work with a diverse population

Additional Information

This is a full-time position, requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Minimum Requirements

Degree: Bachelor’s Degree, Masters Preferred
Experience: 5-10 years’ experience fundraising for a non-profit. CFRE desired but not required.
