Storytelling and Architectural Photography, with Karen Palmer

Thursday, June 1, 2023
Online: 6pm – 7pm CST

Learn about the many tools at your disposal to create architectural images that move beyond an uninspiring snapshot to imagery with a strong sense of place. Topics include composition, point of view, lighting, time of day, and use of people to craft images that fit your storytelling vision.

Karen will talk about how she approaches interior design assignments to create engaging images that capture the essence of the space and the intended message.   She also will touch on travel photography within the architectural genre.

Karen Palmer is an architectural photographer based in St. Louis, Missouri.   She is a self-trained photographer who has honed her skills through the guidance of mentors and extensive online learning and hands-on practice. While Karen’s educational background is in electrical engineering, she was always drawn to photography and design. After several years in the engineering industry, Karen followed her passion for photography and pursued a career in architectural photography. For over a decade, Karen has worked for a diverse range of clients in the real estate, hospitality, architecture, interior design, and shelter magazine industries.
