Spirit & Beauty: The Photographs of Julia Margaret Cameron, with David Hanlon
David Hanlon is a Professor at St. Louis Community College, where he leads instruction in photography and photographic history at the Meramec campus. He has exhibited his photographs both regionally and nationally for the past thirty-five years, and spent twelve field seasons working as an archaeological photographer at sites in the Middle East and the Balkans. Hanlon is also active as a curator and a writer about the history of the medium, his essays being published in international journals and museum catalogs. His book, Illuminating Shadows: The Calotype in Nineteenth Century America, was released at the end of 2013.
