Street Shots: Five Photographers Who Document the Urban Landscape, with John Kerans
There are few events that command our attention like the fleeting dramas of everyday street life, small moments that catch our eye, but then are gone forever. In an effort to preserve those small moments, some photographers like to prowl the streets, creating memorable images that put people in context and give the audience “a sense of time and place” that will last forever.
In this lecture, we’ll discuss the work of five such street photographers and examine their memorable images: Joel Meyerowitz, Bruce Davidson, Mary Ellen Mark, Bruce Gilden, Berenice Abbott.
